A Note from Prairie City SMARTies
Help Prairie City SMART Reading volunteers and friends reach our goal! Oregon Reads Aloud is our biggest fundraiser of the year and we need your support. Across Oregon, children are facing unprecedented hardships that will have negative and lasting impacts as they try to build the literacy skills they need for future learning and success. They need SMART Reading now more than ever, and we need you more than ever. Join us to make a difference on Friday, Feb. 26, 2021, for Oregon Reads Aloud, an all-day virtual fundraiser supporting the work of SMART Reading in our community and across the state. The Central Area will be sharing fun and inspiring readings of children's books from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., and we hope you will join us.

We will be doing the annual canned food drive for Prairie City Family Christmas Baskets starting Monday and going until the last day of school before Christmas Break. 2 cans of food gets you a cookie. Class with most cans gets a prize at the finally. We will bring boxes around tomorrow and hopefully it works for everyone to collect them during your first period class and Seniors will come around each morning to take a individual tally for cookies and running totals.
Spread the word
Thanks
Billy

Message regarding previous statement about basketball open gyms. After discussions at school and with the new amount of cases in the county we are going to hold off on basketball open gyms for a bit longer until we are given more information in the coming days and week about how the case count is doing. Sorry and thank you for your patience.

Hello PC Families,
I wanted to inform everyone that we will not be closing our school due to the increase in cases. We take the safety of your children very seriously. Although John Day Schools are pivoting to CDL until November 30, we are anticipating being in school Monday. We will monitor the situation closely and keep everyone informed.
Thank you and Go Panthers
