Under the Student Assessment Bill of Rights, the Oregon Department of Education (ODE) and Oregon’s school districts must provide families with a “Notice of Statewide Tests and Opt-out Form” 30 days before the start of statewide testing. This year, school has been significantly disrupted by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and other factors. In response, ODE asked the United States Department of Education for a temporary pause (also known as a “waiver”) in English Language Arts (ELA) and Math testing. A pause is also being requested for science testing, but science testing is not subject to this opt-out rule. • If this waiver request is approved, then statewide ELA and Math testing will not happen this year, and there will be no need for parents to submit opt-out forms to their child’s school. • If the waiver request is not approved, test windows will open on April 13, 2021. Please click on the link to pull up the opt-out form: https://5il.co/qmqh ODE will update your district regularly with news about the waiver. Thank you and GO Panthers!

Good Evening PC Families, Today we found out that we currently have two positive COVID cases in our school. We are working closely with the Grant County Health Department to monitor these cases and contact tracing. As of now, we have decided to continue with in-person learning and will closely evaluate the next few days for any changes. I have put a letter on our website (www.pcsd4.com) or you can access it here (https://5il.co/qfwd) and on our Facebook page explaining in more detail what our guidance and protocols are. Our number one goal is for the safety of our students and staff. Please feel free to call and ask questions. Thank you and Go Panthers!

Hello Prairie City Families, This info is for our Cyber Mill creation sponsored by OSU Extension office that would allow access to tech, wifi, printers, etc for our local area. There goal is to see this as a “hang out” for students as we are in uncertain times for their educational needs as well. The data will be helpful as we are going back to County Court on the 10th to ask for funding. The link is listed below! Feel free to share and distribute. Shooting for a Feb 7th deadline. https://oregonstate.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_b9mhPfWhWU60aHk Thank you and Go Panthers!!!

Good Morning Prairie City Families, I am writing to you this morning to address the Timber Trucker parade in John Day this year. We put one of our busses into the parade but made a mistake on how we decorated it. I have addressed this in a letter to you, the public. Please click on the link to access the document. https://5il.co/oej1 This can also be seen at our website under the documents tab by clicking on the PC School Reopening Information and scrolling down to the bottom of that page to access the "Letter to Community on Public Complaint".
