Last Thursday, Sawyer Quinton ran the Preliminary races in the 100, 200 & 400 Meter sprints at the State Track & Field Championship held at Hayward Field in Eugene. He qualified for the finals in each event run on Friday. Sawyer made the podium in all 3 events, finishing 3rd in the 400 along with 6th in both the 100 & 200. Along the way he broke the 28-year-old school record in the 400 meters posting a time of 51.12 seconds at the state meet. Attached are photos of Sawyer & Coach Garrett Hitz at Hayward Field with Sawyer’s” 3” OSAA State Medals and a photo of Sawyer on the podium collecting his 3rd place medal in the 400 Meters.


Put this on your calendar. Next year's sports physicals will be at Prairie City school on Friday July 31 starting at 8:00. All prospective athletes in grades 5, 7, 9, and 11 should get one. They last for 2 years. The cost is a donation of 2 cans of food. Thank you.

Reminder for Every Kid Outdoors Day:
All students must wear long pants (joggers, leggings, jeans, etc.) and closed-toed shoes. Please also keep the weather in mind, as it may be rainy. Dressing students in layers and sending a rain jacket is recommended.

Spring sports awards and recognition will be Tuesday June 2 at the Senior Center at 6:00. Dessert and drinks for Prairie City Golf, and middle and high school Track and Field.
Prairie City Track is headed to state in Eugene. Leaving this morning at 9:00 from the new gym. Come and support them if you can. Good luck to our 6 athletes headed to state.
Please have your track athlete bring their track jersey to turn into Kelsy or Shanna asap. We need to get them turned in so we done lose anymore. And NO Seniors do not get to keep their jerseys.

The 10/11th grade and Advanced Art classes painted native plants and flowers on trashcans for the Greater Prairie City Community Association. The trashcans will be distributed throughout the town. 🌸





On Monday and Tuesday, Sawyer Quinton representing Prairie City High School finished in 10th place at the State 1A, 2A,3A golf championships at Tokatee Golf Course in McKenzie Bridge Or. Sawyer was one of 68 of the best players in the state competing over the two-day event. He won his third state medal and was awarded one of the flags given out by the Oregon Golf Course Superintendents Assoc. He was also named to the prestigious All-Tournament Team for the 3rd year in a row, which recognizes the top 10 best golfers in the state. Great job Sawyer!
