Yesterday Prairie City hosted the High Desert League Academic Bowl. It is a competition for middle and high school students in which they are asked a series of questions from a multitude of academic subjects. The event has been happening for well over 15 years. We had great attendance with 8 schools attending supplying 12 high school and 9 middle school teams of 4 to 6 competitors on each team. There were over 100 participants! Thank you to all that helped make this a success for our league students. One of Prairie City's high school teams won the high school division. Congrats to them and all the participants from Prairie City.

Come to school at normal time, and the bus will be back before school gets out. Please make sure your student has a water bottle, a backpack, closed toe shoes for hiking, and a hat/sunscreen. Lunch will be provided.

Hello Prairie City families With the weather starting to get nicer I want to have PE outside as much as possible. We all know that weather can be unpredictable around here in the spring time, So the decision to have outside PE will be day to day. On those days that we can have outside PE we need to make sure students are wearing safe shoes for PE. They need to be wearing shoes that are comfortable to be running in. Please do not send your students to school in flip flops or open toed sandals unless you send them with a pair of shoes they can change into for outside PE. Thank you Mr. Bauman

I just wanted to recognize the great job that our student athletes did this past weekend at our annual middle school track meet. The high school track athletes did an exceptional job of working with around 430 middle school athletes to run all of the events smoothly. Also a big than you to all of the track coaches and especially Mr. Murray for organizing the help and Kelsy Wright for having the facility looking great for the event. With over 400 athletes and well over 100 coaches and spectators it was a well attended and successful event. Thank you to everyone involved in making the track meets we have hosted this spring a great success. Mr. Colson

Ashley Brandsma came to school to shoe Waylon Harper’s horse. She talked to the students and explained what she was doing. She answered questions that the students asked. We learned a lot about what a farrier does.

On Friday the 4th, the PC Golf team traveled to Echo Hills Golf Course for the first tournament of the year. The PC Golf Team of Sawyer, JW, Ritter, Jon and Brogan came out in first place in the team event. Sawyer shot a blistering 5 under par 67 to take home the first-place medal. Ritter took 5th at 98, JW was 6th at 99, Jon 9th at 106 and Brogan 13th at 112. Solid performance by all of the players. Pictures are Sawyer and JW going over strategy for the next hold.
